John Newman - Your new
possibilities, bigger dreams and new horizons
The story of John Newman is a story of triumph over tragedy, of mind over
matter, of guts and determination and ultimate success.
John was a successful television producer with the BBC in London when he began
presenting seminars on Personal Achievement. He created a new career for
himself, his charismatic style attracted large audiences in Britain, the US and
Australia.

Four years ago John accepted an invitation to present his Dynamics of Money
Achievement seminar in Hungary. The audience of over 2000 people showed their
appreciation with a standing ovation and thunderous applause.
Landing at London's Heathrow airport the next day, John clung to the memory of
his latest success in the hope that it would prevent him dwelling on what was
to come.
It was time to walk alone through the gates of an Oxford hospital with the full
knowledge that he might never see those gates again, or the beautiful English
countryside, or, even worse, his devoted wife of more than 31 years.
John felt fine but a few weeks earlier a scan had revealed a large tumor
growing in his head.
Surgery was scheduled to happen within 21 days of that discovery. He tried to
plead for a delay to fulfil a Latin American engagement, but the neurosurgeon
was adamant. Speed was of the essence if there was to be any hope of recovery.
The surgical procedures were declared a success, although it did not seem that
way to John. Sure, he had been taken off the critical list, but his face was
paralyzed. He was a public speaker who could no longer speak; he could not even
smile, whistle or eat normally. Walking was difficult because his balance was
damaged.
"It is almost as if this was meant to happen," thought John as he surveyed the
tubes and bedside equipment which were hooked up to his body. He had been
researching, speaking and teaching on mind matters for success in life for many
years. He believed in himself. He believed in the power of the mind to heal the
body. He even believed in miracles.
John freely acknowledges his debt to neurosurgery, but stresses that it was
"all that other stuff" that created his full recovery.
As a result of his experience, John's presentations now have an even more
positive and dynamic theme. He is back on the international public speaking and
seminar circuit.
When we spoke with John during the preparation of this newsletter we could
detect no evidence of his traumatic experiences in his voice; no impediment, no
hesitation.
